Centaurs
Centaurs are creatures with the lower body of a horse and the torso and upper body of a man. They are found in forests and wide plains. Centaurs are intelligent and carry weapons, typically clubs, spears, and bows. In melee, they can attack twice, once with a weapon and again with their hoofs. Centaur males cannot resist alcohol and become violent when drunk. They eat raw flesh (including human meat) and sometimes abduct young women food and pleasure. Female centaurs and their young generally remain in the centaurs' lair and do not fight. 5% of centaurs are spellcasters and can cast cure critical wounds, cure disease, and growth of plants a total of 3 times per day.

Gargoyles
Gargoyles are bi-pedal reptilian beasts that resemble the monsters from medieval architecture. They have rough leathery skin, horns, talons, fangs, and bat-like wings. They can only be harmed by magical weapons. Gargoyles almost always react with hostility, and will even attack other Chaotic creatures, though they will sometimes be found in the service of high-level Chaotic clerics and magic-users.

Medusae
Medusae are beautiful human women a head full of venomous green asps with burning red eyes and a deadly poisonous bite. Any character who sets eye on the medusa is turned to stone. Like basilisks, a medusa who catches sight its own reflection, it is likewise petrified. Medusae are highly intelligent and enjoy decorating their lairs with the statues of their victims - especially handsome males.

Unicorns
Unicorns are white horses with a single long horn protruding from their forehead. They are immune to poison and disease. They are also highly intelligence, making them almost impossible to capture. Unicorns are wild and elusive; they are impossible to tame by men, but can occasionally be ridden a virgin girl, as unicorns value purity and innocence above all other virtues. Unicorns are especially resistant to magic and make saving throws as an 11th-level magic-user.

Werewolves
Werewolves are humans affected by the disease, lycanthropy. They are forced to transform into a wolf under the sight of the full moon. Any human who loses more than 6 hit points to a werewolf contracts the disease and will become a werewolf himself if not outright killed. A cure disease spell is only effective if administered 2-24 days after the disease initially contracted. When in beast form, a character's human side is suppressed. They are concerned only with feeding and survival. Werewolves are generally exiled or chased away from human society. Instead, the travel in packs in the wilderness. A werewolf can only be harmed by silvered and magical weapons.

Basilisks
These slow, grayish-brown lizards stretches 5 feet in length and stands 2 feet in height. They live in long, dark caverns. Basilisks are slow and heavily armored. Most terrifying, however, is their ability to turn flesh to stone. Anyone who meets the basilisk's stare is immediately petrified. Only a single glance is enough. Fortunately, a basilisk is susceptible to its own gaze. If a basilisk stare into its own reflection, it is turned to stone. Basilisks are not intelligence creatures; they do not seek to create gardens of statues like medusae. They simply want to defend their territory, their young, and sink their teeth into fish and man-flesh.

Naga
Nagas are human above the waist, but with the lower body of a serpent. In total, they stretch up to 12 feet long. They are guardians and keeper of knowledge and seek to protect ancient and forbidden lore from those who would use it improperly. Nagas favor swords over other weapons, and their fangs can deliver a poisonous bite. 25% of nagas are powerful spellcasters who can cast charm persondispel magic, growth of animalsinvisibilitypolymorph selfsticks to snakes and wall of fire a total of three times per day.

Salamanders
These five-foot long lizards have reddish skin and fiery red eyes. Salamanders are creatures of fire and can set anything alight by a simple but deliberate gaze. If the salamander concentrates on a living creature, the creature will spontaneously combust, taking 2 dice worth of damage. Like basilisks, salamanders are not overtly intelligence creatures. They do not enjoy causing harm. They simply want to protect themselves, defend their territory, and watch pretty flames dancing around them. Salamanders live in deserts and volcanoes.

Minotaur
Minotaurs are men with the head of a bull and incredibly hairy skin. They can attack with their horns and weapons, causing two dice of damage on a hit. Minotaurs are vicious and love the taste of human flesh; they will attack any character on sight without the need to check morale, and will pursue their prey so long as it in within sight.

Manticores
Manticores are huge beasts with the bodies of lions and human faces. They have the horns and wings of a dragon, and their tails are covered in 12 iron spikes, which they can fire from their bodies, up to 6 at a time in a 6" long cone in any direction. These terrifying creatures love the taste of men and fight with such strength and ferocity that they inflict two dice of damage on a hit in melee combat.

Chimeras
Chimeras have the body of a lion, the rear legs of a goat, the wings of a dragon, and three heads. Its goat heads has long, sharp horns; the lion's head has great fangs; and its dragon's head can bite or breathe fire in 6" long cone, though it only inflicts three dice of damage, and the chimera can only breath fire three times per day. Worst of all, every round a chimera can attack once for each of its three heads.

Sphinx
Sphinx have the body of a winged lion and a human head. They have extremely good senses and cannot be surprised. Their claw and bite attacks are so powerful that they inflict two dice of damage on a hit. Sphinx are lovers of riddles. A sphinx guarding a pathway will sometimes allow a character to pass if he can correctly answer the sphinx's riddle. If the character answers wrong, however, the sphinx will attack. 25% of sphinx are powerful spellcaster who can cast cure critical wounds, cure diseasecurse, dispel magicremove curse, and wall of fire a total of three times per day.

Hydras
A hydras is the many-headed snake. A hydra typically has between 5 and 12 heads and possesses one hit die for each. Thus a six-headed hydra's hit points can should be counts 4, 5, 1, 2, 6, 3 instead of 21. When a character scores enough hit points for a hydra to lose one of its hit dice, the character also chops off one of its heads from the hydra's body. On each combat round, a hydra can attack once for each head is possesses.

Purple Worm
These huge and hungry monsters lurk beneath the surface of the earth, carving tunnels through solid rock and devouring everything in their path. They are 50 feet long and 10 feet in diameter. Their attack inflict 3 dice of damage and mouths are so large that they can swallow an ogre in a single gulp. Any die rolled to attack that score a 20 (or else 4 more than the number required to hit) is swallowed by the purple worm. A swallowed character will be dead in six combat rounds and completely digested (thereby preventing resurrection) in twelve unless the purple worm is killed. Purple worms never check morale and always attack on sight.
